We are excited to welcome three new members of the board for JWHA, and we’re looking forward to what they can contribute toward making our organization better.

Dr. Nancy Ross is the new board member replacing Matt Harris as the liaison between JWHA and MHA. She is currently Department Chair in the Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences at Utah Tech University. She also serves as pastor of the Southern Utah Emerging congregation of the Community of Christ.

Dr. Kyle Beshears replaces Susan Staker as the board liaison with John Whitmer Books. Kyle is the campus pastor at the Mars Hill Church in Mobile, Alabama. His PhD dissertation focused on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite) after the death of its founder, James J. Strang. He is a prolific author who has published in the fields of Christian theology and the history and thought of the Restoration movements.

Dr. William D. Russell (Bill) hardly needs an introduction. He fills a new position as Emeritus Board Member. Bill was a founding member of JWHA and served as a professor at Graceland University for 41 years. He has served as our organization’s president and in many other roles over the years. In his new position as an emeritus member of the association’s leadership, Bill can help us keep focused on the founding mission of our organization as it was envisioned more than 50 years ago.
