Restoration Studies Spring Symposium
Sponsored by JWHA, the Community of Christ Seminary and Sunstone
Plan to participate in the 2009 Restoration Studies &
Sunstone Midwest Symposium. Our first annual theology, cultural, and religious
studies conference was an energetic success and our second symposium will be
held April 17-18, 2009.
The topic, "Examining the Origins of Scripture," is an
expansive one. What makes scripture scripture? How is the understanding of
scripture in the Restoration and Community of Christ tradition unique? How do
traditions in the Restoration compare with the understanding of scripture in the
broader Christian community and also the world’s other religious traditions?
We
want you to share your ideas with us next year on this topic or on any aspect of
theology, cultural, and religious studies. Send your one-page proposals for
papers or panels along with a brief bio to our program committee co-chairs
